Abstract

Unusual cases of neurocysticercosis which have been easily misdiagnosed ass a simple isolated 4th ventricle hydrocephalus are presented. There was magnetic resonance (MR) imaging documentation of an intraventricular cyst residing in the 4th
ventricle.
Brain CT, MRI, seum ELISA and CSF ELISA confirmed neurocysticercosis in the 4th ventricle. Suboccipital craniectomy have found a cystic mass in the 4th ventricle,. The 4th ventriclewas normalized in size postoperatively and shunt operations was
not
necessary. Pathological diagnosis was neurocysticercosis.
